Help from Schaffhausen has arrived: a new day clinic in Aygehovit

Around CHF 270,000 for the Martin and Jessica Blumer Day Clinic – including funds from the Canton of Schaffhausen.

The Stiftung Hilfe für Armenien has invested around CHF 270,000 in a day clinic in a remote village. Part of the money comes from the Canton of Schaffhausen.

Few people in Schaffhausen are likely to know where the small Armenian village of Aygehovit is. In Aygehovit, on the other hand, everyone knows where Schaffhausen is.

The foundation has been active in Aygehovit for around three years. In 2016 the Norbert Neininger Kindergarten was inaugurated, in summer 2017 the water supply was renewed, and at the beginning of October the renovation and extension of a day clinic was celebrated.

The clinic is named after Jessica and Martin Blumer, a couple from Dörflingen who have supported the foundation very generously for years. “We know,” says Martin Blumer, “that with Help for Armenia, the money goes exactly where it is needed.”

Part of the costs was covered by funds from the Canton of Schaffhausen: at the end of 2016, the cantonal parliament awarded the foundation the Schaffhausen Prize for Development Cooperation, which comes with CHF 25,000.
