Aygehovit – Martin and Jessica Blumer Day Clinic

In Aygehovit, in north-eastern Armenia, the Stiftung Hilfe für Armenien renovated a day clinic from the ground up – a project with a total budget of CHF 270,000 that will benefit the local population for years to come.

In recognition of this work, Pino Ciaccio and Mike Baronian received the «Schaffhausen Prize for Development Cooperation» from the Canton of Schaffhausen in 2016, together with CHF 25,000 in funding. Further support came from the Schaffhausen local radio station Radio Munot, whose Christmas appeal raised over CHF 50,000 – an impressive sign of broad public solidarity.

The project’s significance was also reflected in official recognition: the Swiss Ambassador to Armenia personally attended the opening ceremony of the renovated day clinic.
