Proshian Day Clinic, Kindergarten and Water Supply

In the community of Proshian, on the outskirts of the Armenian capital Yerevan, funding from the Stiftung Hilfe für Armenien brought a day hospital, a kindergarten and the water supply up to modern standards.

The first step came in 2006 with the renovation of the day clinic – a project made possible by the solidarity of the people of Schaffhausen. The Schaffhausen local radio station Radio Munot supported the project with a Christmas appeal that raised over CHF 78,000.

The next project followed seven years later: in 2013 the foundation renovated the Proshian kindergarten, which offers around 120 children a safe and warm place. The foundation invested around CHF 190,000 in this project.

Proshian was thus one of the foundation’s first major commitments beyond emergency relief – and laid the groundwork for its long-term focus on infrastructure projects, which remain at the heart of its work to this day.
